Rumors that an Adele residency is in the works persist, despite little supporting evidence. Confirmation is nowhere to be found that the “Rolling In The Deep” singer will hit the Strip anytime soon.

Rumors Emanating from Across the Pond

Reports that Adele is headed for the Strip have leaked from her home in the UK. The Daily Mail reported that the 33-year-old superstar is in negotiations for a residency at Resorts World. However, rumors are that Adele would not come to the States until COVID restrictions lift, which could be sometime in 2022.

The unverified report indicates that if the deal goes through, it would double the singer’s $180 million worth.

Also, rumors indicate that Adele would not live in Las Vegas, but rather, would live in LA and fly back and forth to Vegas by private jet. Reportedly, the singer’s team has been contacting local Las Vegas musicians to form her band for a potential residency.

Those in the Know Remain Mum

In response to these rumors, executives at Vegas’ most prominent booking agencies, AEG Presents and Live Nation, have not responded to requests for confirmation. Executives at Caesars Entertainment and Wynn Las Vegas have also declined to comment.

This is not the first time that Wynn has been implicated with an unverified Adele residency; similar rumors flew in 2017. At that time, it was rumored that Adele had been offered $27.7 million for a year-long residency at The Wynn. Current rumors claim that Resorts World seeks to top that.

Finally, representatives at MGM Resorts simply repeated the company’s policy to not comment on rumors.

Scott Sibella, Resorts World President, and CEO remain adamant that they are not in negotiations with Adele for a residency. Also, conflicting rumors say that someone at AEG Presents leaked that Adele would not take up residency at The Theater at Resorts World. AEG Presents is the exclusive booking agent for Resorts World.

This is Not Adele’s First Flirtation with Sin City

Adele’s core backup band is based in and around London. But, sources close to the L.A. music scene have not heard reports that Adele is looking to put together a US backup band.

Also, Adele’s team has employed Las Vegas musicians in the past. A few years ago, David Perrico’s Pop Strings played the singer’s 30th-birthday party. At that shindig, a Titanic stage set was built at Sony Studios in Los Angeles and transported here.

Ten members of David Perrico’s group played “Happy Birthday to You” as Adele dramatically descended the Titanic’s grand staircase.

Perhaps that dramatic scene could be included in Adele’s rumored Las Vegas residency. But, David Perrico nor his musicians have been contacted about a potential Adele residency.

Adele Has Been Absent from the Stage Since 2017

Adele’s last concert was more than 4 years ago, in June 2017. That epic event took place at Wembley Stadium in front of was to 97,500 fans.

The Grammy winner is not shy about her stage fright and fear of performing before a large crowd. The more intimate environment of a Las Vegas residency might be more comfortable for the reclusive singer.

During that last tour, Adele also addressed that she’s not eager for a world tour; the singer would rather not travel for the sake of her 8-year-old son. A Las Vegas residency would also keep Adele close to her son.

Adele’s Los Angeles Homes

Over the summer of 2020, the British superstar purchased a $9.5 million Beverly Hills mansion. The 6,595 square-foot, 4-bedroom Tudor-style home would provide the Grammy-winning singer a serene, home base for a residency on the Strip. Adele spent the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic isolated at her Beverly Hills mansion.

Also, the global superstar owns property all over the world. Confirmed are a second Beverly Hills mansion, a New York City penthouse, a beach home in Malibu. In Britain, the singer owns homes in London, West Sussex, East Grinstead, and Brighton.

It’s unknown how much Adele’s real estate portfolio is worth. But in 2016, she purchased her other Beverly Hills mansion for $10.5 million.

The Grammy-winning singer’s neighbors included Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Lawrence, who reportedly own homes in the same gated community.

Don’t Wait for Adele to See a Las Vegas Show

While Adele’s Las Vegas residency remains a rumor, the shows on the Strip go on.

  • Usher resumes his residency at Caesars Palace beginning on December 28, 2021.
  • Donny Osmond hits the stage at Harrah’s September 1 through November 20, 2021.
  • Barry Manilow performs at Westgate on November 11, 2021.
  • Celine Dion is the star attraction at The Theatre at Resorts World throughout November 2021.
