While other Cirque du Soleil shows are back, the comeback of “Ka” is still on hold. Cirque’s show at the MGM Grand is currently set to relaunch in November, or by the end of the year. Previously, “Ka” was set to hit the stage again in October.

Reportedly, Cirque du Soleil is reopening its shows, including “Ka”, slowly, due to ongoing mask mandates. For the time being, all Cirque performers in “O” and “Mystere” must wear masks onstage; the only exceptions are aerial and water acts. The audience at Cirque shows is also required to mask up due to the Governor’s latest COVID-19 edicts.

The good news is, Cirque du Soleil’s reopenings are on track. Set for August 19 is the reopening of “Michael Jackson One” at Mandalay Bay. “Love” is set to reopen at the Mirage on August 26. Cirque’s biggest, and most expensive show, “Ka”, is the last to reopen.

ZZ Top, Let the Show Go On!

Despite the recent death of bassist Dusty Hill, Billy F. Gibbons confirms that the band plans to keep their October dates at The Venetian Theatre.

Gibbons quoted Dusty saying, “Let the show go on!” So, with respect to Dusty, the legendary 80s band will take the stage. ZZ Top has hired veteran guitar tech Elwood Francis to fill Dusty Hill’s place.

Despite his demise, Dusty Hill’s vocals and bass and vocals immortalized on the soon-to-be-released ZZ Top album. The newest album was nearly finished before Hill’s death. ZZ Top fans should be able to purchase it in time for the holidays.

Earl Turner Returns to Vegas

After three years long years, the ultimate showman, Earl Turner, returns to Vegas. The longtime Sin City headliner last appeared with Clint Holmes in “Soundtrack” at the Westgate. This time around, the Las Vegas resident hits the stage at 7:30 on Friday and Saturday nights at South Point Showroom.

The award-winning performer spent most of 2018-2019 on the road, as well as headlining on Royal Caribbean cruise ships.

His Southpoint show features songs he’s only performed once before an audience. Turner will perform cover songs by the Isley Brothers, Paul Simon, and Frank Sinatra.

Roller Skating with Soul

Last December, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather purchased the aging Crystal Palace skating rink; Mayweather’s goal in purchasing the roller rink was to give back to the community by providing a safe place for kids to hang out. While maintaining the reto vibe, the space has been updated and renovated and renamed Skate Rock City.

Recently, Usher took time out from his Caesars show to take a spin around Mayweather’s Skate Rock City. To return the favor, Mayweather took in Usher’s Saturday night show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, along with Kevin Hart. The trio posed for a series of Instagram-worthy pictures at Usher’s Backstory pre-show.
